Why Kuo Dental was created:
Too many patients struggle to find trustworthy dental care, often mistaking price
for quality. With years of education and hands-on experience, Dr Karen knew there had
to be a way to deliver expertise and genuine care.
Kuo Dental is officially born
At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone was focused on
disinfecting surfaces (doors, chairs).
We wanted to go one step further and installed a ventilator and laid ventilation pipes
to supply fresh air to every treatment room and suck out “dirty air”.
Making self-ligating braces (Damon-style) accessible
We closed the price gap between conventional and self-ligating braces because we knew the cost
difference didn’t justify keeping the better option out of reach for most patients.
A move that many JB clinics soon followed.
Free iTero intraoral scan
We understood patients struggle to fully understand complex dental terminology
and words without visuals. We introduced a free scan for patients doing scaling and
polishing so they could see what our dentist sees.
Wisdom tooth Removal (Pro Max – pun intended)
Laser Biostimulation – reduce infection risk and accelerate healing.
CBCT (3D X-ray)
Added CBCT to our clinic because having 3D X-rays can improve
(by understanding bone depth and thickness that normal X-Rays don’t show) the treatment
plan for implant and clear aligner patients.
X-ray is good and 3D X-ray (CBCT) is even better (diagnose better, treat better).
We got the $$$$ Planmeca CBCT because
its ultra-low dose technology makes it safe even for our young patients.
With 3D X-ray showing bone depth and thickness (that normal X-rays don’t show),
your implant or clear aligner treatment plan can be even safer and precise.
Dental implant (ft. Soft tissue management)
That’s why Dr Karen attended multiple trainings and workshops in KL and Singapore
to bring Soft Tissue Management for implants to her patients in JB.
Improving both the look and longevity of the implant.
Clear Aligner Expertise Recognised by Industry Leaders
Dr Karen was selected as a Key Opinion Leader and clinical trainer for Angel Aligner.
She is also one of the only two Malaysian dentists that was invited to attend
the Angel Aligner Master Class in Monaco with orthodontists from Europe and the rest of the world.
Expanding expertise in Kids' Growth Correction
Dr Karen launched a comprehensive educational initiative on early pediatric dental intervention on social media,
while pursuing advanced certification in Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine under Dr Audrey Yoon (Clinical Professor,
Stanford University). She understands that addressing these issues in childhood prevents a lifetime of health complications.
